Subject 577

Overview

Taken from the Institution after student Evans warned teaching body of Subject 577's suspicious behavior. Docile, if prone to unnecessary commentary. Can be kept in a standard cell.

Subject 577 was tested for enrollment in the Institution by demand from its parents. Victim of several incidents involving Subject 576 until attempted murder made the Institution's administration separate them and send Subject 576 to the laboratory.

Attempts to make Subject 577 share a room with other subjects invariably ends in incidents, some deadly. It is advised to leave it in a solitary room to avoid any repeats. Furthermore, any contact with Subject 576 is entirely forbidden. See Reports 13-576-22-577-001 to 13-576-22-577-014 for further detail.

Despite frequent clashes with other subjects, it has not caused any damage to equipment, and seems as interested as staff when it comes to understanding its ability. It is surprisingly good-natured when it comes to cooperating, which may be a holdover from apparent good behavior while at the Institution. Caution is still advised when interacting with this subject, as its manipulation may be subtle. Any doubts regarding Subject 577's behavior, or regarding actions taken by staff in the subject's presence, need to be reported immediately.

Restrictions in behavior towards Subject 577 include, but are not limited to : allusions to prior situation, expressions of concern, offering help for a task it pretends to "have trouble with", unusual indulgence towards subject. While those are standard practices, they are especially needed as Subject 577 has been known to take advantage of perceived weakness towards it to "steer" people towards benefiting it.

Current research focus : Understanding of the nature of its "single" ability.

Age : 14

Status : In custody – solitary

Ability :

  • Puppetry (as described by the subject. Theories lean towards a mix of telekinesis and mental control, although Subject 577 is adamant that it is not "some kind of freak supervillain".)

Notes

Subject is one of our few displaying less than two anomalous abilities. There is a chance that this "one" ability is actually several ones working together well enough that they do not seem distinct at glance. — Dr Beaulieu

Amanda would never forgive me if she knew.

Author of precedent note currently suspended from research on Subject 577. Researchers would be wise to remember that their handwriting is known. — Dr Beaulieu
