Subject 198
Overview
Taken into custody shortly after birth. Uncooperative.
Presents bouts of aggressivity that are hard to control. Sedatives should be kept at the ready to enact Protocol 1-188-3 in the event of an incident. It is to be kept in a high-security cell (reinforced walls, doors, cameras).
Known for frequent attempts to break out of custody. Only somewhat successful attempt resulted in the escape of Subject 205. See report 1-198-13-205-005. Its latest attempt, during Incident 1-198-13-576-22-577-001, has yielded both staff and subject casualties. Subject has not shown any distress regarding this event beyond the initial shock. This may indicate that it is more dangerous than previously anticipated.
Several incidents have shown the subject's ability to subdue, maim, and kill lab personnel despite its young age. Extreme caution is advised when conducting testing with Subject 198. While it has shown most success when being tested alongside other subjects due to its social nature, its protective instincts towards them, especially younger ones, have been the source of many incidents. Testing guidelines are included in the subject's special protocol files.
Possesses a pair of wings, broken during testing. Wings now appear to be useless as bones have not healed properly. Subject 198 still attempts to use them from time to time, usually outside of testing hours.
Through careful mending and reeducation, flight tests have resumed in d.e. 526. Subject may now glide for a short amount of time. It reports persistent pain in areas of prior breakage, and X-Rays have shown that internal damage is still strangely prevalent. While no longer broken, most of the wings' bones have grown back in the wrong places. Furthermore, testing has been known to open wounds.
Subject 198 is reluctant to participate in testing relating specifically to its wings.
Healing abilities have proven to be exclusively self-applied. As with all other anomalies presenting healing abilities, there is no clear biological source for them. No further research needed on this particular subject, and training of subjects with useful healing abilities is recommended.
Incidents involving Subject 576 during alloted socializing hours have surprisingly not led to further conflict between the subjects. They have started sitting next to each other without a word, and it seems Subject 198 enjoys watching the other draw.
Despite expressed doubts from research lead, Subject 198 and subject 576 have been placed in the same room in the hopes that their goodwill towards each other will result in more consistent cooperation from them both.
Current research focus : None planned. Subject 198 has shown no promise regarding obeying orders and helping others in remaining in laboratory custody, and the amount of incidents involving it have been rising steadily. Administration has been contacted regarding possible termination.
Age : 17
Status : In custody – shares room with Subject 576
Abilities :
- Flight (limited capacity)
- Unusual strength
- Accelerated healing (includes resistance to most medication)
As nothing major has happened after this version of Subject 198's file, it will remain the primary archive that Anomaly Department personnel should review if they feel the need to learn more about the subject's past.
Subject transfer is scheduled for late d.e. 528.

Notes
A subject this young is quite rare. This may help us study how exactly anomalies develop, as most grown anomalies tend to have two to three abilities. – Researcher Akronas
This is proof that our testing should not go in the way of making sure our subjects stay intact. Although I will admit that we do not need to find out how to sprout wings on the back of people, there was no need to mangle them. This may be an anomaly, but it would be wise to remember that those subjects are also children. She is ten. Did we truly need to traumatize her like this ? – Dr [REDACTED]
Addendum []/[]/520 : Dr [REDACTED] has been removed from the study of Subject 198. Further investigation regarding respect of hierarchy orders pending. – Dr Beaulieu
Addendum []/[]/26 : No need for further flying/gliding testing. Trips to the medical ward are getting far to common. – Dr Beaulieu
Addendum []/[]/27 : Subject 198 has been temporarily moved to a different room and may go back to solitary custody after last week's events. Administration is still silent regarding possibility of termination. – Dr Beaulieu
I don't think they'll do anything until I declare her a lost cause, Mel. And you know I can't do that until she's old enough for my department. – Dr Carter
